Being by Sanctuary Spa Salted Caramel & Macadamia Body Scrub Review

Body scrubs play an important part in any skincare routine and I’m always on the lookout for new ones to try.

I absolutely love Sanctuary Spa so thought I’d give Being a try to see if the sister brand is just as good.

There isn’t much of a scent range to choose from for this brand although they do have a wide range of products such as mask, butters and bath bombs etc…

For £9 you get 250g of the body scrub, mine is Salted Caramel & Macadamia which I have to admit is an interesting choice of scent.

It’s not overpowering with salted caramel definitely coming out on top but I do prefer fruity scents or the classic Sanctuary Spa scent.

The scrub itself had a waxy texture and is that fine you can barely feel it scrub. It did leave my skin feeling smooth but I prefer a deeper scrub which you can feel working.

For £9 I would say it’s more on the pricey side as there are better scrubs on the market you can for a similar price or cheaper.

The brand is cruelty free and a lot of the products are Vegan which I believe this one is.

Pregnancy Skin Care Favourites

As the title suggests this post is all about the skin care products ive been using throughout pregnancy and have found quite useful. Currently I’m at 38 weeks and desperate for my little man to arrive! There are quite a few brands out there that cater specifically for pregnancy and ‘bump care’ but I have been using products that are suitable for everybody.

First of all is the shower products and if like me you have those sluggish days sometimes you just want a quick pamper and with the following products you can have just that.

Shower Products

A lifesaving product is the Wilkinson Sword Intuition Razor, with its huge soap block around the blades it makes it quick and easy to shave without having to mess around with shaving gel etc.. I personally loved this product before pregnancy but I’ve appreciated it a whole lot more since! You can get it in sensitive which is pictured above or there’s a pink handled razor which I believe is shea butter. You can buy the razor heads separate so there’s no need to throw the whole thing away after use.

Body Scrubs: This isn’t really a necessity but for some soft exfoliation (especially when you get a dry bump!) then I’ve found Boots Extracts and Sanctuary Spa to be really gentle on the skin. My Boots scrub is actually a festive one from a few years ago but you can find a whole range of scents in store/online, it doesn’t feel like your traditional scrub and is quite soft to touch and doesn’t feel harsh on the skin or have harsh scrubbing particles in it.

The Sanctuary Spa Moisturising Butter Scrub is also a firm favourite of mine, it’s again a gentle scrub but without the need to moisturise after use, which when you get to the latter stages of pregnancy is a great thing. The only issue I have with the packaging is it isn’t very sturdy and can feel flimsy at times which makes it awkward to get the product out.

Finally a product I’ve only been using since pregnancy is the Nivea In Body Shower Moisturiser,  with this product you use your usual shower gel then step out of the water to apply the shower moisturizer to then wash it off and believe me your skin ends up so soft! The best way to use the product is to use as little as possible otherwise it can feel a bit greasy.

By no means are these products intended to help with common pregnancy issues such as stretchmark’s etc… they are just products that I found have made life a lot easier!

Sanctuary Spa Radiance Exfoliator Review

With so many skincare products on the market its hard to choose which brand to go for, what you may need in your daily routine and how often you should use the products in question.

Well the Sanctuary Spa CLEANSE Radiance Exfoliator is perfect for all skin types, the gentle scrub reveals “smoother, brighter & healthy looking skin” or so it states on the tube and I have to agree that the product is great!

I’ve only ever used body scrubs by this brand so when I received this mini facial scrub (15ml) in a Christmas gift set last year I was excited to give it a go. Whilst admittedly it isn’t the most attractive looking scrub it smells gorgeous and left my skin feeling soft and wasn’t drying.

The scrub is gentle enough to use 2-3 times per week and as stated before its fine on all skin types, I have combination oily skin and I haven’t found any problems with it.

On the back of the packaging it does state that the product is not tested on animals, however, there isn’t the leaping bunny logo and it does not state whether it is vegetarian or vegan friendly so you would have to check the ingredients carefully before purchasing.

The full size bottle (100ml) usually retails at around £10 and can be purchased from Boots or the Sanctuary Spa website. The only criticism I could have for the exfoliator is that the packaging of the trial size does not match with the full size bottle, so if you were to forget the name for it and went out looking for the matching packaging then you could miss out or buy the wrong item.

Overall I would recommend this product, a little goes a long way so its sure to last which therefore makes the £10 price tag worth it.

Boots Boxing Day Sale Haul 2014

The annual Boots Boxing Day sale consists of 50% off all Christmas gifts and Fragrance sets, this mini haul will show you what I managed to pick up for some great prices!

Cute or What Bath BagCute or What Wash Bag

I managed to get this cute wash bag set for £6 which includes a body wash, body butter, bubble bath and a small body puff. I picked up one of these last year which featured a fox bag, I love the consistency of the animal theme which changes each year.

Cute or WhatCute or What: Bath Fizzers and Lip Balm Trio

Continuing with the Cute or What brand I managed to pick up a trio of bath fizzers with a kitty design and a lip balm trio for £2.50 each. This is a great price and will make lovely gifts so it’s worth picking them up!

Fearne Bath CollectionFearne Bath SetFearneBath Set

A firm favourite of mine this year is from the Fearne Cotton collection. This set cost £5 and features a body puff, body butter, body wash, body scrub and a hand lotion all packaged neatly into a little drawer inspired box. The packaging for this looks great and the productshave a ‘musky aroma’ scent which is subtle yet smells amazing.

Sanctuary Spa Little Bag of TreatsSanctuary Spa: Little Bag of Treats

The final gift I picked up was this stunning little Sanctuary Spa set which is held together in a floral silk bag. The contents include a bath puff, body wash, body lotion and a body scrub. This set looks quite elegant so again it would make a great gift and best of all it only cost £4!
