Makeup Revolution Vampire Night Lip Kit

It’s almost Halloween and to celebrate Makeup Revolution have brought out some new ‘spooky’ products including the Vampire Night matte lip kit and Ghostly highlighters.

Makeup Revolution Vampire Night
The box design is no different to the usual lip kits launched earlier this year, I’m slightly disappointed the lips don’t feature vampire teeth to add that special Halloween touch.

Deep reds are such great colours for Autumn so I was excited to try this out. I have two other lip kits from MUR which I have reviewed here. Unfortunately the lip liner doesn’t fully match and is more pinky toned than the actual liquid lipstick so on application you can see the difference.

MUR Vampire Night Swatch
The liquid lipstick is a very good match to the box image which I know MUR have had problems in the past with incorrect shade images. Compared to previous kits I felt the lip liner wasn’t as creamy and felt more difficult to apply as it felt sharper.

If you’ve visited my blog before then you’ll know I absolutely love MUR but this lip kit just wasn’t my favourite. The liquid lipstick formula is not the same as previous kits and felt quite flaky to wipe away and didn’t feel as comfortable on the lips and personally I’d rather the lip liner was a matching shade.

For £6 you get a great vampy shade but it isn’t the best lip kit around.

Have you tried Vampire Night?

Wonder Woman Wisdom Lipstick

Bring out your inner Wonder Woman with Wilkinson Sword!

If you’ve seen my previous post then you’ll know I received the shade Power with the purchase of the Wilkinson Sword Intuition razor. Today’s post is all about the shade Wisdom.

Wonder Woman Wisdom Lipstick

Whilst Wisdom wasn’t my first choice (I’d picked Wonder) the promotion allowed you to select two options out of all four shades  Wonder, Wisdom, Power and Grace.

The shade is a gorgeous deep red, whilst it glides on the lips it does take a few applications to get an even colour with better pigment and just like Power it does transfer easily.

There’s a subtle smell of Shea Butter which acts as the moisturising property in the lipstick and makes it comfortable to wear on the lips.

The lipstick is cruelty free and a list of ingredients can also be found on the Wilkinson Sword website.

Wonder Woman Power Lipstick

Wilkinson Sword has teamed up with the newly released Wonder Woman film to bring 4 fabulous shades of lipstick you can choose when purchasing a selected razor product. (Intuition, Quattro and Hydro Silk)

The shades are called Wonder, Wisdom, Power and Grace and are worth £10 each.

The shade I selected is Power, along the sleek matte black packaging is the Wonder Woman logo on one side as shown and on the reverse of the lid is the shade name. The website claims the lipstick will be moisturising and long lasting.

The shade itself swatched gives off a pinky red vibe, it glides on the lips and gives the perfect classic red lip look. Whilst I’m not sure on its longevity I can tell you it does easily transfer when eating/ drinking and it does feel quite moisturising.

The other shade I ordered with my promotional code and hope to receive soon is the shade Wonder which is a gorgeous nude shade.  Wisdom looks to be a deep red and Grace is a coral colour so there is quite a diverse selection to appeal to all audiences and skin tones.

The ingredients list for the lipsticks can also be found on the Wilkinson Sword website.
