The Body Shop Rich Plum Hand Cream Review

It’s been a while since I’ve posted so what better way to start a new year than with a new post.

As part of the 2019 Festive range Rich Plum has became a firm favourite of mine from The Body Shop. This lightweight hand cream could be purchased separately (£5) or as part of the festive sack gift set (£16).

I’m not usually a hand cream fan as I hate it when they feel greasy but this one sinks in instantly, has a lovely smell and a little goes a long way.

It’s the perfect size to keep in your bag, there’s a wide range of scents to choose from and its cruelty free, I’m not sure if it’s Vegan as it doesn’t say so I’ve inserted a photo of the ingredients.

My hands don’t get overly dry so I can’t comment on if it’s good for very dry skin but it does leave my hands feeling lovely and soft.

It’s currently half price in the sale so check your local store!

Impulse Sparkle & Shine Gift Set Review

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas….

Superdrug kindly sent me some gift sets to review for their Blog Squad and first up is the Impulse Sparkle and Shine Gift Set which is exclusive to them.

Impulse Gift Set

This set retails for £10 and comes in a large disco ball which you’ll either love or hate. Personally I think it aims it more at a younger market.

Impulse Body Spray

Inside is four of their full size 75ml body sprays including: Hint of Musk, True Love, Tease and Very Pink.

The sprays usually retail for around £1- £1.99 so really you are paying slightly extra for the packaging.

I think the gift would make a great present idea for a Secret Santa.

There are more Impulse gift sets available catering for different price ranges.

A Yankee Candle Christmas

Christmas is fast approaching with only 20 days to go and what better time is there to light festive scented candles.

I absolutely love Yankee Candles from the jars to the tea lights and everything in between! The Christmas scents are one of my favourites so today’s post is dedicated to a selection of Festive votives.

Christmas Yankee Candle Votives

My all time favourite has to be Snowflake Cookie with Sparkling Cinnamon a close second, who doesn’t love the smell of cinnamon right?

There’s so many more scents you can get in different varieties and they make great stocking fillers for friends and family.

The Simply Home version of Yankee are from Asda and they still smell just as great they just aren’t the ‘original’ ones. Votives are a great way to sample scents without purchasing the jars first!

Merry Christmas!

Yankee Candle: Sampler Votives

Autumn weather is the perfect time for candles and Yankee Candle have a great range of scents for the Autumn and Christmas periods. If you’ve seen my previous post which was a Wax Melts/Tarts haul then you will know that the home section of Asda sell the candles for as little as £1.Yankee Candle Sampler VotivesSampler Votives are a great purchase as they last ages and the scent always burns quite strong, if you prefer a subtle scent then you may prefer to use the Wax Melts/Tarts in a burner. I picked up what I’d describe as perfect scents for the season, I also managed to pick up a sneaky Christmas Treats candle!

So far my favourite scent is Cranberry Zest but I very rarely dislike a Yankee product!

Look out for my Halloween Yankee Candle Post!

Yankee Candle: Wax Melts Haul

Everybody loves a Yankee Candle, they smell great, last ages and come in a wide variety of sizes and scents depending on your personal preferences.I’d never used a Wax Melt (or Tart) before and was really intrigued on how they worked, the wickless wax goes onto a burner holder with a tea light candle below to melt the above. Upon my first try ive found that the Wax Melt lasts a very long time!

Yankee Candle Wax MeltsUpon stumbling on the candle aisle in Asda I discovered that they sell their Yankee Melts and Sampler Votives for £1 each. The fragrances Cranberry Zest, Christmas Treats are taken from the Autumn/Christmas range minus Sweet Pea and possibly Rainwashed Berry and Raspberry Sundae…

Sweet Pea is the only one ive used so far and it smells so lovely without being overpowering. My favourite is Cranberry Zest but I love the Christmas ranges bought out each year minus the vanilla inspired  ones but ive never been a fan of vanilla.

I’m not sure yet whether I still prefer to use the Sampler Votives!

More Yankee Candle hauls coming soon including a Halloween special!

Leafy & Lovely Hand Lotion Review

Leafy & Lovely are an exclusive brand to Superdrug and can be found in the Christmas gift aisle. Items range from bath to hand to homeware products. I picked up the hand cream to try which is in a 100ml bottle and cost £2.

The scent is quite pleasant and fruity, it isn’t overpowering and has a ‘zesty boost’ from grapefruit and lime for a citrus scent. The product overall smells quite fresh and the hand lotion itself has a good consistency and isn’t too heavy or runny like some creams can be. I adore the packaging as it’s quite simplistic but fun and as the brand states lovely.

It is cruelty free which is always a bonus and the 100ml bottle is sure to last throughout Winter! Although the size isn’t exactly compact for travel it is still a great item to use at home as your hands are left feeling so soft thanks to the element of shea butter.

I hadn’t heard of this brand until recently and wondered why as the products smell great and have a nice small price tag; whether you are buying for yourself or a friend I definitely recommend you pop to Superdrug and pick up this brand!

Unfortunately this brand is only available at Christmas.
