Body scrubs play an important part in any skincare routine and I’m always on the lookout for new ones to try.
I absolutely love Sanctuary Spa so thought I’d give Being a try to see if the sister brand is just as good.
There isn’t much of a scent range to choose from for this brand although they do have a wide range of products such as mask, butters and bath bombs etc…
For £9 you get 250g of the body scrub, mine is Salted Caramel & Macadamia which I have to admit is an interesting choice of scent.
It’s not overpowering with salted caramel definitely coming out on top but I do prefer fruity scents or the classic Sanctuary Spa scent.
The scrub itself had a waxy texture and is that fine you can barely feel it scrub. It did leave my skin feeling smooth but I prefer a deeper scrub which you can feel working.
For £9 I would say it’s more on the pricey side as there are better scrubs on the market you can for a similar price or cheaper.
The brand is cruelty free and a lot of the products are Vegan which I believe this one is.
Primark homeware always has a great range of Disney collectables from a range of different films. For the Beauty and the Beast collection I needed Lumiere which I’ve been dying to get my hands on since they were first released.
I was lucky enough to receive one for Christmas and he beats any expectations. You can add your own tealight candles which really brings the piece to life.
This costs £12 and was worth the wait! I know that originally there was a problem with the first Lumiere’s that came out as they had fragile arms but this one is completely sturdy and stands out beautifully.
I absolutely love Lumiere and think he’s the best Disney piece that Primark has done so far.
Last month I ordered The Nutcracker November Birchbox and inside was a small 13g sample of Sand & Sky Purifying Pink Clay Mask. This Australian Pink Clay mask retails for full price at £39.90.
Admittedly when seeing the sample size I was disappointed at how small it was as it probably won’t last very long.
On first application I did notice it has a smell similar to marzipan but not as strong… The clay is more of a light peach colour than pink and turns white when dry and claims to take around 10 minutes to dry but I found it was drying as I was applying it.
I’d never heard of this brand before and from first impressions it’s not a brand I’d really look into again as I didn’t find it made my skin look any better than if I’d used a cheaper drugstore mask.
Out of all the products I received in the Birchbox this was probably my least favourite.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas….
Superdrug kindly sent me some gift sets to review for their Blog Squad and first up is the Impulse Sparkle and Shine Gift Set which is exclusive to them.
This set retails for £10 and comes in a large disco ball which you’ll either love or hate. Personally I think it aims it more at a younger market.
Inside is four of their full size 75ml body sprays including: Hint of Musk, True Love, Tease and Very Pink.
The sprays usually retail for around £1- £1.99 so really you are paying slightly extra for the packaging.
I think the gift would make a great present idea for a Secret Santa.
There are more Impulse gift sets available catering for different price ranges.
The new Superdrug Oat & Coconut range is designed for sensitive and dry skin and retails for £5.99.
The products were kindly sent to me to review for the Superdrug Blog Squad.
The range smells better than I expected as I’m not keen on Aveeno products with the oatmeal scent.
My favourite product is the oil enriched cream, it doesn’t feel greasy and dries down quickly. My partner also used this product on a burn and it cleared it up and made that area less sensitive.
The Daily Lotion also dries down quick and is perfect to use for a light moisturizer.
I am not really a fan of hand creams and I did find this one to be slightly greasy but if you do suffer with dry or cracked skin in the Winter then it may be worth trying. It retails for £4.99.
Overall I do like this range and feel it would be a great alternative to Aveeno for a much more affordable price.
As always with Superdrug it is cruelty free and vegan.
Hi guys, I was recently sent a skincare package by Superdrug to review for their Blog Squad. The We Love range has recently expanded and I was excited to receive the pink grapefruit jelly scrub.
I have never used a jelly scrub before but I know that Lush has jelly bath products so maybe Superdrug is trying to appeal to Lush consumers?
First of all this scrub smells amazing! It isn’t too overpowering and offers a gentle scrub which can be used more than once a week, it is a weird consistency but I soon got used to it. If you prefer more of an exfoliating scrub then I wouldn’t recommend this as it isn’t like an ordinary body scrub.
I really like this product and I will be repurchasing it when it runs out. It’s super affordable at £4.99 for 200ml and there is a wide range of scents and other skincare bits in this range.
The only negative I have is the pot is quite thin plastic so I feel it could crack easily if dropped.
As always with Superdrugs own brand it is vegan friendly and cruelty free.
I Heart Revolution has branched out into bath and skincare as well as releasing new makeup products every other week.
I ordered three of the bath bomb fizzers when they were first released and have just got around to testing out the Mermaid Splash one.
The bath bombs retail for £3 each and come in a range of different scents. The Mermaid Splash fizzer is supposed to have an ‘aquatic’ scent but I didn’t really notice much of a scent to it.
For the price I wasn’t expecting Lush quality but I was disappointed that it didn’t change the water a different colour like it says it does and the glitter was minimal and instantly clung to the side of the bath.
Personally I feel like I Heart Revolution have missed the mark with their bath products as their makeup is always great quality.
It’s officially October so time to crank out autumnal scents, all things spooky and relish the dark nights.
Today’s review is all about the DW Home Caramel Apple Cider candle which retails for £7.99 in Homesense.
I’d never used or heard of DW candles before this review but it is beautifully mirrored and spooky blood splatter design which made me want to test it out, plus is smells amazing!
It’s a double wick candle although there was a smaller version which has one wick and retailed for £5.99 I think.
When I got it home it did fill the room without being lit so I was expecting a strong smelling candle straightaway but once lit it wasn’t as strong although it did nicely fill the room eventually.
Although the candle smells good I wouldn’t rate it as highly as Yankee Candle or Makers of Wax Goods.
Have you tried any spooky candles lately? 🎃
Revolution has recently launched its Halloween 2018 collection and I for one could not wait to pick up some pieces.
Beautiful Darkness retails for £6 and features a mixture of gorgeous shimmers and mattes. Can we all take a moment to appreciate the spooky packaging?
Something ‘new’ I’ve noticed about the layout of this palette is the larger pans for the transition and matte highlighter shade which a lot of people will appreciate.
Out of 12 shades there are only 4 shimmers but they are absolutely stunning when applied with your finger, I tried with a wet brush but it didn’t pay off as nicely.
My absolute favourite shade is Dead Rose, my swatches don’t do this palette justice but it is a gorgeous Red shimmer. Poison is also a gorgeous green/brown shimmer whereas Corrupted is a beautiful gold that needs building up.
The back of the box on my palette did have a few spelling mistakes for the shade names but that isn’t really an issue for me and might have been from a bad batch but it really doesn’t effect the palette overall.
As always the shadows are pigmented, buildable and had no fallout for me.
This palette is cruelty free, Vegan friendly and currently 3 for 2 on Superdrug.
Halloween season is upon us and I love bringing out all my Halloween candles, my latest edition is from Makers of Wax Goods.
I’d never heard of this brand before but it’s an American Company which specialises in handmade goods. Here in the UK you can find their products in Homesense
I love the old fashioned labelling as it stands out from other brands. It’s a medium sized candle which crackles and smells amazing!
It’s pumpkin and spices which smells similar to Fireball sweets and within minutes of being lit for the first time I could strongly smell it and the scent lasted without weakening.
I have been really into crackling candles lately and this one doesn’t disappoint although it can be a little noisy at times.
If you come across this brand I would definitely recommend giving them a try if you love scented candles as to me this brand could rival Yankee!
