Being by Sanctuary Spa Salted Caramel & Macadamia Body Scrub Review

Body scrubs play an important part in any skincare routine and I’m always on the lookout for new ones to try.

I absolutely love Sanctuary Spa so thought I’d give Being a try to see if the sister brand is just as good.

There isn’t much of a scent range to choose from for this brand although they do have a wide range of products such as mask, butters and bath bombs etc…

For £9 you get 250g of the body scrub, mine is Salted Caramel & Macadamia which I have to admit is an interesting choice of scent.

It’s not overpowering with salted caramel definitely coming out on top but I do prefer fruity scents or the classic Sanctuary Spa scent.

The scrub itself had a waxy texture and is that fine you can barely feel it scrub. It did leave my skin feeling smooth but I prefer a deeper scrub which you can feel working.

For £9 I would say it’s more on the pricey side as there are better scrubs on the market you can for a similar price or cheaper.

The brand is cruelty free and a lot of the products are Vegan which I believe this one is.

Sand & Sky Australian Pink Clay Face Mask First Impressions.

Last month I ordered The Nutcracker November Birchbox and inside was a small 13g sample of Sand & Sky Purifying Pink Clay Mask. This Australian Pink Clay mask retails for full price at £39.90.

Sand & Sky Pink Clay Mask

Admittedly when seeing the sample size I was disappointed at how small it was as it probably won’t last very long.

On first application I did notice it has a smell similar to marzipan but not as strong… The clay is more of a light peach colour than pink and turns white when dry and claims to take around 10 minutes to dry but I found it was drying as I was applying it.

December Birchbox The Nutcracker

I’d never heard of this brand before and from first impressions it’s not a brand I’d really look into again as I didn’t find it made my skin look any better than if I’d used a cheaper drugstore mask.

Out of all the products I received in the Birchbox this was probably my least favourite.

Superdrug Oat & Coconut Range Review

The new Superdrug Oat & Coconut range is designed for sensitive and dry skin and retails for £5.99.

The products were kindly sent to me to review for the Superdrug Blog Squad.

Superdrug Oat & Coconut Range

The range smells better than I expected as I’m not keen on Aveeno products with the oatmeal scent.

My favourite product is the oil enriched cream, it doesn’t feel greasy and dries down quickly. My partner also used this product on a burn and it cleared it up and made that area less sensitive.

The Daily Lotion also dries down quick and is perfect to use for a light moisturizer.

I am not really a fan of hand creams and I did find this one to be slightly greasy but if you do suffer with dry or cracked skin in the Winter then it may be worth trying. It retails for £4.99.

Overall I do like this range and feel it would be a great alternative to Aveeno for a much more affordable price.

As always with Superdrug it is cruelty free and vegan.

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub Review

Sugar Crush is my absolute favourite scent by Soap & Glory and for a long time now I’ve been meaning to try the body scrub. I’ve already tried the body butter and body wash which I love!

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush

This 50ml is from a gift set, I’m not 100% sure if you can buy this separately but if you can the travel size items cost around £3; the full size is 300ml and costs £8. The packaging is simple and stands out and comes in the form of a screw top pot.

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Scrub

The scrub smells fresh and divine, it’s a mixture of brown sugar, sea salt, lemon and sweet lime. It is thicker than other scrubs I’ve used but it isn’t a problem as it still glides on the skin and a little goes a long way.

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub

After use my skin felt soft, there was no irritation and it wasn’t drying. The scrub isn’t harsh so it can be used frequently but if you want a deeper exfoliation then you may want to try the Scrub ‘Em and Leave ‘Em body buff.

I would definitely recommend giving this a try and picking up Sugar Crush gift sets, there’s no better scent!

Wilkinson Sword Intuition Fab Review

The Wilkinson Sword Intuition Fab is one of the brand new razors on the market and features ‘bi-directional’ blades with the top half shaving up and the bottom half shaving down. It retails for £11.99 with packs of 3 blades also costing the same.

Wilkinson Sword Intuition Fab Blades

I’m a big fan of the original Intuition razor and love that this version has a water activated gel, it feels much nicer than shaving gel.

Wilkinson Sword Intuition Fab

The handle is made of soft rubber and is curved which makes it incredibly comfortable and easy to navigate in comparison to the original Intuition. I found that after the first use my skin was left feeling smooth without the need to moisturise afterwards and there were no irritations or shaving rashes.

Although I love both of the Intuition razors I would say this one slightly has the edge as it is easier to use due to the size of the razor head and glides better around the knee and ankle areas.

I would fully recommend this razor and think its perfect for everyday use or to even take away on holiday.

Solait Medium Tan Wipes

I finally did it, something I thought I would never do… I used fake tan! For the first time ever I ventured out of my comfort zone and tried the Solait Medium Tan Wipes.

At first I was worried by the word ‘Medium’ was I going to to go orange or really dark? Well no I didn’t I was pleasantly surprised to have a nice sun kissed glow.

Solait Medium Tan Wipes

Lets start positive: They cost £2.99 and are cruelty free and vegan. They are easy to use (rub in a circular motion) and to me it was a great colour that wasn’t too dark although I wouldn’t think it is a medium colour more on the light-medium side.

The negatives: You can’t see the product on the skin so there isn’t any indication of any missed patches so I did end up streaky but that could be down to lack of experience using tanning products. It also made my face feel oily but I do have combination skin.

The colour develops after 4 hours and because you don’t have to hop in the shower to wash it off you can easily repeat the process to cover the streaks or to build up the colour if you want darker skin. I’ve had one shower since applying the tan and my skin although streaky is still holding the colour so it doesn’t fully wash away at first.

These wipes would be great for on the go or to use as a top up for tan you want to stop fading.

May Favourites 2018

Hey everyone, just a quick post today to show you what products I have been loving recently and haven’t put down throughout the month of May, there are tons more products but I’ve kept it short and sweet.

May Favourites

Delicious Destination Body Mists: I believe these are a relatively new launch in Superdrug and cost £3.99 each, I love the Layering Lab Body Mists but they are usually sold out so I thought i’d give these a try. The Watermelon & White Lotus mist smells fruity and fresh whilst the Kiwi & Palm Leaves smells very similar to the Gucci Bamboo fragrance which I absolutely love.

Wake Me Up Caffeine and Green Tea Wipes:  These are Superdrug own brand wipes and cost £1.29 they are great for removing make up whilst being gentle on the eyes as I have had problems in the past with wipes making my eyes sore. I love using these on bare skin without make up as it makes my skin feel refreshed. These wipes are suitable for all skin types as well.

Carmex Strawberry Lip Balm: I use this everyday and it definitely keeps dry lips at bay, its one of the best lip balms I think you can get and it retails at £2.69 with loads of different flavours to choose from.

Maybelline Falsies Mascara: This is by no means a new product but I rediscovered it last month after my favourite L’Oréal Paradise Extactic Mascara ran out and I don’t know why I stopped using it, it’s a great volume mascara and only costs £8.99.

Models Own Chrome Indigo Polish: I’ve had this polish a while from a Chrome gift set but I hadn’t actually used it before and its now my favourite shade. It looks great and is the perfect mix of blue and purple, the only downside is that it doesn’t last too long without a top coat applied over it. You can get this shade off the Models Own website for £4.99

Mad Beauty True Love’s Kiss Face Mask Review

Who knew that Disney face masks existed!? I was nicely surprised the other day when my boyfriend had brought me this mask to try out. It features my favourite Princess, Aurora from Sleeping Beauty which is definitely boyfriend points.

Mad Beauty True Love's Kiss Face Mask

I love the packaging and you can get other masks featuring Ariel, Belle and Jasmine. This mask cost £4 from The Disney Store but you can buy them online from other retailers such as Amazon.

Mad Beauty True Love's Kiss Sheet Mask

The sheet mask features a cute design which I think is the same design for all of the Disney Princessmasks. (Apologies for the poor quality image)

Upon getting it out of the packet I must say it is the wettest sheet mask I have ever tried which wasn’t particularly pleasant as I had to immediately go and wash it off my hands whilst trying not to touch anything!

It was too big for my face which is pretty standard for sheet masks anyway so it would be great if they came in different sizes. I left it on for 10-15 minutes like it suggests and my face was completely soaked in product afterwards which resulted in being washed off.

The lavender scent wasn’t too overpowering which was good but I was put off by how wet the product was as it didn’t really give the pamper session a relaxing feeling.

Whilst it left my skin feeling nice and soft afterwards and didn’t irritate any blemishes I do feel that for £4 I didn’t see any noticeable differences and considering most of the product probably got washed off it isn’t worth the money.

Have you tried any Disney masks?

Soap & Glory Scrub ‘Em and Leave ‘Em Body Buff Review

Time for another skincare review and todays product of choice is one I’ve been loving lately and its the Soap & Glory Scrub ‘Em and Leave ‘Em body buff. I have the 50ml pot which retails as £2.50 but you can get the huge 300ml pot for £8.

Soap & Glory Scrub 'Em and Leave 'Em Body Buff

Firstly this body buff smells amazing it contains Babassu Oil, Sea Salt and is scented with their Mist You Madly body mist. It is a great exfoliator and feels rougher than any other body scrubs I have previously tried, however, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing as it didn’t feel scratchy but if you have sensitive skin it might not be for you.

I also think it would be perfect to add into a tanning routine as it leaves your skin feeling very smooth and exfoliated after use with no need to moisturise.

A slight issue with this scrub is it does collect in the bottom of the shower rather than washing away completely.  If you are unsure whether or not to give this a try then I definitely recommend picking up a travel size.

“At Soap & Glory, we absolutely do not test our formulations on animals, however we can’t say that each and every ingredient that goes into them has not, at some point historically, been cleared for human use, by animal testing.” (Soapandglory.com)

I loved this product and would have no problems with purchasing a full size.
